About ANNUAL

ANNUAL means "once a year."

We deliver products made from high-quality New Zealand Merino wool harvested that year.

ANNUAL is committed to highly transparent manufacturing that allows us to see the faces of producers and trace the entire supply chain, from raw material procurement to material development and productization.

Furthermore, we collect unnecessary products in-house and recycle them into new resources.

Universal beauty knitted in merino wool that is kind to both the earth and people

ANNUAL is a brand that uses New Zealand Merino wool and is committed to harnessing the potential of New Zealand wool, which boasts high quality around the world, in basic clothing that will never fade, even as the times change.

People who raise sheep, people who spin thread, people who dye it, people who make clothes.

The clothes made from natural materials are carefully crafted by skilled craftsmen, and each one has a luxurious feel that becomes soft and supple the more you wear it.

10 years from now and beyond. A brand for people who know what is truly good.

Only the highest quality merino wool, luxuriously

Merino wool is a natural material that is cool in summer and warm in winter.

ANNUAL is particular about New Zealand coffee, which only accounts for a small portion of the world's production.

Rare wool is further sifted by experienced buyers, and only the highest quality wool is selected for use in terms of flexibility, fluffiness, fineness, strength, whiteness, etc.

Why we insist on New Zealand produce

Queenstown is a lakeside town surrounded by high mountains on New Zealand's South Island, where many sheep graze in the untouched, majestic natural surroundings.

To protect themselves from the severe temperature changes unique to high mountain regions, where temperatures exceed 30°C in summer and drop below -20°C in winter, the sheep raised in this area have evolved over many years to grow their wool at a high density. The wool, which grows tightly with a wavy pattern, is said to be very white, supple, and highly elastic.

Highly functional natural materials, cultivated under the blessings of the harsh yet beautiful Mother Nature, are transformed into clothing that is a part of our daily lives and conveys the breath and kindness of the earth through its comfort.

Protecting the irreplaceable global environment

"Sustainability" refers to efforts to ensure that beautiful environments and the lives of the people who live there will continue to exist in the future.

In order to achieve a sustainable social system in which human activities and the natural environment are in harmony, ANNUAL will continue to focus on New Zealand Merino wool.

Wool is highly moisture wicking and comfortable all year round, and is an ethical material that can be recycled. It is biodegradable and will eventually return to the soil, so it doesn't put a strain on the environment. In addition, in New Zealand, they don't use mulesing, which is harmful to the sheep's bodies, so it's also kind to the sheep.

To ensure the happiness of not only the people who wear our clothes, but also the people and animals who live in the land, we are doing our utmost to face the worsening environmental issues and create products that take into consideration the future of the earth.

Recycling Initiatives

For example, a system has already been established whereby PET bottles are collected from each household as recyclable waste, and it is well known that they are reborn as raw materials for various products.

However, the reality is that most clothing that is no longer needed is simply discarded.
Therefore, ANNUAL has introduced "CLOTHLOOP," an initiative to recycle collected clothing.

Collect the clothing after it has completed its role.
After sorting, those that can be recycled are returned to a cotton-like state and then spun into yarn.

We will continue to pursue what clothing should be like in the future, so that it becomes a commonplace thing to recycle and circulate, just like plastic bottles.
